Meet the Cast of ‘A Straightforward Scenario’: Zachary Urban

Celebrate National Give OUT Day June 30 and celebrate Gay Pride with Proud Mary Theatre Company and our Brand Spanking New Play Series with the world premiere of A Straightforward Scenario, a play in one act by Hope Phillips.

In this hilarious scenario, GenZers debate politics and try to balance their attempts to be PC with their thirst-quenching desire for that ever-so-delicately-breaded breast in a foil pouch.

This premiere stars Zachary Urban (THE BOYS IN THE BAND), Sun Jane Schwalm (LESBIAN VAMPIRES OF SODOM), Dexter Simmons (SOUTHERN BAPTIST SISSIES, THE KISS) and Lily Webb making her Proud Mary Theatre debut.

Zachary Urban is an actor from Spartanburg, SC entering his third year at USC Upstate where he studies Communications and Theatre. Favorite roles include Willy Wonka in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Spartanburg Youth Theatre), Chuck in She Kills Monsters (Converse College), Lawrence in For Whom the Southern Belle Tolls (USC Upstate), and Cowboy in The Boys in the Band (Proud Mary Theatre). He has also acted locally at the Spartanburg Little Theatre and the Upstate Shakespeare Festival. Additionally, he has been recognized for his playwriting on several occasions including the Archibald Rutledge Scholarship Award. He’d like to thank his family and mentors for their limitless support and encouragement.
