Kevin Treu

In our next Brand Spanking New Play Series production, Proud Mary Theatre Company is very proud to welcome back our company’s inaugural Director Robert Fuson as he presents It’s A Generational Thing, his exciting new mind-bending play about a middle aged Barbie and G.I. Joe premiering on our FACEBOOK PAGE @ 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 21.

In this surreal deconstruction of gender roles and their capitalist roots, G. I. Joe has “rescued” Barbie to his cabin. There, they go on a journey where they discover empathy, build a relationship, and raise a child together, all with no regard to the world they destroy around them. Satirical and visceral, this play will set your mind spinning.

Kevin Treu is pleased to be making his Proud Mary acting debut in this remarkable new play, after having made his directorial debut last October in Vampire Lesbians of Sodom.  Favorite acting roles include A Few Good Men(“Col. Jessep”) at SLT, Sleuth (“Andrew Wyke”) at GT, Screwtape (title character) at Warehouse, Doubt (“Father Flynn”) at the Furman Playhouse, and Othello (“Iago”) with USF.  By day, he chairs the Department of Computer Science at Furman.  Thanks to Robert for writing this terrific play (and including me in this wonderful cast!), to Maya for keeping us focused, and to Sandy for giving it another opportunity to be heard.

Our Brand Spanking New Play Series is FREE but donations to South Carolina’s only Queer Theatre Company can be made on our website at proudmarytheatre.com.
