Proud Mary Theatre Company’s Sordid Lives, the Southern cult comedy play by Del Shores, will now be virtual and streaming August 14-16.

Leslie H. Hendon plays Bitsy Mae Harling, an ex-con country singer with a “reputation.” Leslie has been involved with theatre in the Upstate for over 15 years. Favorite roles include Margo, Legally Blonde: The Musical with The Spartanburg Little Theatre; The Chaperone, Drowsy Chaperone with Limestone College; and Sally Bowles, Cabaret with SLT. Leslie is absolutely thrilled to be involved with this talented cast and is excited to join her first production with Proud Mary. Many thanks to her two favorites, Trey and Ellie, for their love and support.

In this beloved play, a colorful family from a small Texas town must come to grips with the accidental death of the elderly family matriarch during a clandestine meeting in a seedy motel room with her much younger, married neighbor. The woman’s family must deal with their own demons while preparing for what could be an embarrassing funeral.

Artistic Director Sandy Staggs will direct Sordid Lives and the production will include musical performances by Bitsy Mae Harling (Leslie Hendon) and Brother Boy (Scott Waddell) and a whole lotta shenanigans.

Co-starring Lori Guthrie, Jada Lashay Bell, Lori Lee, Samona McMillan, Caitlyn Keefer, Joel Perkin, J.R. Bloomer, Jenn Alynn-Perri, Ken Snart. Brock Davis, and Sun Schwalm.
