Meet Dr. Eve from ‘Sordid Lives’: Jenn Alynn-Perri

Proud Mary Theatre Company’s Sordid Lives, the Southern cult comedy play by Del Shores, will now be virtual and streaming August 14-16.

Jenn Alynn-Perri plays the psychiatrist Dr. Eve Bolinger. Her many credits include:

Non-singing stage credits include Henri (A Party to Murder, Centre Stage), Heather Clark (Gidion’s Knot, CS), Young Irena (Irena’s Vow, CS), and Antipholus of Ephesus (Comedy of Errors, Upstate Shakespeare Festival). Singing credits include Lucia (Lucia di Lammermoor, Capitol City Opera), Emma Carew (Jekyll and Hyde: The Musical, CS), Agnes (Agnes of God, CS), and Valencienne (The Merry Widow, Spartanburg Repertory Opera). Jenn performed in the world premier of Stephen Young’s play The Night We Bombed Lincoln Towing as Lilly, and in the world premier of David Berry & Ronald Boudreaux’s multimedia opera Troiades as the high-flying coloratura Cassandra. From 2017 to 2020, Jenn portrayed SC Telco Federal Credit Union’s quirky banking-obsessed spokesperson, Moxie. Jenn also performs opera, operetta, jazz, and rock in concert. This is Jenn’s first role with Proud Mary Theatre Company.

In this beloved play, a colorful family from a small Texas town must come to grips with the accidental death of the elderly family matriarch during a clandestine meeting in a seedy motel room with her much younger, married neighbor. The woman’s family must deal with their own demons while preparing for what could be an embarrassing funeral.

Streaming begins Friday, August 14 at 8 pm and ends at 8 pm on Sunday, August 16. Rated PG-13. Unlimited viewing all weekend for a donation of any amount on our website at proudmarytheatre.com. Artistic Director Sandy Staggs will direct Sordid Lives and the production will include musical performances by Bitsy Mae Harling (Leslie Hendon) and Brother Boy (Scott Waddell) and a whole lotta shenanigans.
