Proud Mary Theatre Company’s Sordid Lives, the Southern cult comedy play by Del Shores, will now be virtual and streaming August 14-16.

Caitlyn Keefer plays the bar fly Juanita Bartlett in Sordid Lives. This is Caitlyn’s first play production since A Christmas Carol at Byrnes Fine Arts Center, where she played a party guest. However, she loves to act and create her own short films too. She’s taken acting classes with actress Jennifer Malone at Georgia’s Actor’s Academy and learned filmmaking at a 5 week course at the University of North Carolina School of Arts. She wishes to see more diversity with disabilities in film/TV and theatre; give actors with real disabilities a chance to be seen and heard, but not have the disability as the main focus of the character or film. She wants to break barriers and stereotypes about all disabled actors.

In this beloved play, a colorful family from a small Texas town must come to grips with the accidental death of the elderly family matriarch during a clandestine meeting in a seedy motel room with her much younger, married neighbor. The woman’s family must deal with their own demons while preparing for what could be an embarrassing funeral.

Streaming begins Friday, August 14 at 8 pm and ends at 8 pm on Sunday, August 16. Rated PG-13. Unlimited viewing all weekend for a donation of any amount on our website at proudmarytheatre.com.
