Proud Mary Theatre Company presents the Upstate premiere of the bold new musical comedy Head Over Heels by The Go-Go’s, the musical comedy of the Summer for seven performances only June 24-July 2, 2022.

This laugh-out-loud love story is set to the music of the iconic 1980’s all-female rock band The Go-Go’s (2021 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductee), including the hit songs, “We Got the Beat,” “Our Lips Are Sealed,” “Vacation,” “Head Over Heels,” and Belinda Carlisle’s “Heaven is a Place on Earth” and “Mad About You.”

HEAD OVER HEELS follows the escapades of a royal family on an outrageous journey to save their beloved kingdom from extinction—only to discover the key to their realm’s survival lies within each of their own hearts.

Kirby Hood makes her Proud Mary Theatre debut in Head Over Heels as an ensemble member and dancer extraordinaire.

Kirby is a South Carolina native who just recently moved from Pawleys Island to Spartanburg. During the day she is a developer at Michelin, but loves spending her free time devoted to the arts. She started dancing at the age of three and continued through college. Kirby started performing in musical theatre in 2003 at Theatre of the Republic in Conway, SC where she was in the performances of Honk! Jr, Ragtime, and Godspell Jr. During her time at Coastal Carolina University she performed in Cabaret and started as a music major. Kirby also enjoys playing the Bassoon, French Horn, performing with her fiancé in different musical ensembles, and hiking with their dog, Phoenix. She is very excited to be a part of the Proud Mary Theatre Company for the production of Head Over Heels.
