Proud Mary Theatre Company presents the Upstate premiere of the bold new musical comedy Head Over Heels by The Go-Go’s, the musical comedy of the Summer for seven performances only June 24-July 2, 2022.

This laugh-out-loud love story is set to the music of the iconic 1980’s all-female rock band The Go-Go’s (2021 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductee), including the hit songs, “We Got the Beat,” “Our Lips Are Sealed,” “Vacation,” “Head Over Heels,” and Belinda Carlisle’s “Heaven is a Place on Earth” and “Mad About You.”

HEAD OVER HEELS follows the escapades of a royal family on an outrageous journey to save their beloved kingdom from extinction—only to discover the key to their realm’s survival lies within each of their own hearts.

Sandy Staggs plays Dametus in Head Over Heels. He is Artistic Director of Proud Mary Theatre Company, writer, and theatre critic/publisher at CarolinaCurtainCall.com. In addition to producing the award-winning I Am My Own Wife, the critically-received Falsettos, The Boys in the Band, and Fun Home, he has several local acting credits including Proud Mary’s  Sordid Lives, Movement and Southern Baptist Sissies, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Upstate Shakespeare Festival).r.
